I won't tell you his real name. I'll just tell you that round here he's known as Mr Unlucky. Not a very imaginative name, but damned accurate. You see he's one of those 'early adapters'. The guy who snaps up the latest technology months before anyone else, despite the outrageous price tag and unknown benefits to humanity. And man has he been burnt, from Betamax to HD-DVD, he's backed all the losers in the technology wars!

One of his genius moves after conceding defeat in the Beta vs. VHS battle was to start taping all his favourite TV shows onto videos. Throughout the 80s and well into the 90s he taped away, amassing one of the Southern Hemisphere's largest collections of videos. He's kind of regretting it these days. He just never believed they'd come up with better technology than VHS. (Hmmmm... Unlucky or stupid? I'm starting to wonder...)

Anyway today's thingy is for him. Finally a gadget that'll make him feel like a winner. With this USB 2.0 Easy Video Grabber he can convert all his video tapes to DVDs! By simply plugging into his video player (or other analogue device: camcorder, VCR, HI8, etc.) with one end, and his computer via USB2.0 on the other end, he can convert his videos to high-quality MPEG files!

While the included software will even let him bypass his PC's hard drive altogether, transferring his videos straight from tapes to DVDs. And with the professional video editor software he can make his own titles or edit things together how-so-ever he fancies.

So before all his vids totally degrade to nothing more than static I'd better get one of these over to him ASAP! Although before I do maybe I'll just transfer my old high school short films to digital, and maybe my old camcorder holiday movies from the early 90s, and my older sister's wedding video and, and, and.
