Sittin' at the cafe,

Thinkin' bout yesterday,
typin' on my - hmm, what's a brand of laptop that rhymes with "latte"? Never mind. Point is, I had my computer with me.
As did the lovely lady at the next table... and she'd been giving me the eye ever since I pulled out my lappy. Probably because it looks soooo sweet - tricked out with stickers of all my favourite bands and videogames, and with gadgets hanging off every single port, it's wicked cool all the way! You can barely tell what brand it is any more.
I'd been busily typing rubbish for about 10 minutes, trying to conceal the fact that I couldn't get the WiFi working, and sneaking looks at her every chance I could get. Eyes of emerald, legs long and lean, unspeakably exotic... Now and again the breeze would let me catch a whiff of her perfume. Impossible for me to concentrate on... what's that word, um, happens in offices, you get paid for it...? Eh, whatever.
Just as I was about to screw up my courage to say something, she leaned over my way and said, in a low, breathy purr, "you know your WiFi indicator light isn't on - is that why you're pretend-typing rubbish?"
Sprung! I tried to laugh it off, but she wasn't buying it. "You might just need to upgrade your driver - I have a file that should help, if you like?"
I started fossicking in my backpack for a USB stick, not catching the pitying look in her eyes. She slipped an unfamiliar sort of cable out of her bag and plugged our machines together, USB to USB. Before I knew it, she'd copied the file over and it was installing before my eyes.
As my browser sprang to life, I looked up to thank her, but the table was empty. She'd vanished into the crowd, taking that magic cable - as well as half a dozen of my very specific hopes and dreams - along with her.
